Mark Lewis, a 79 year old from Toronto, just got the Group Golden Buzzer on Canada's Got Talent by performing a few card tricks. He got a standing ovation from the audience just for walking down the steps to the judges!!
He managed to predict the card that one of the judges merely thought of, and made cards change in the hands of the other judges. Along with his laid back attitude towards the competition and his age where he appeared not to even care, he won over not only the judges, but the audience of children and adults alike.
It just goes to prove that it’s never too late to chase your dreams. He won $25,000 dollars for getting the buzzer, and is straight through to the next round. When asked if he thought he was good enough to win the £1 Million prize, he replied “What am I gonna do with a million dollars at my age? I’ll be dead.”
I hope to still be doing what I love when I'm his age, as long as I am able to perform with the required skill level, maintaining the entertaining manner to which I would be proud of. Well done to Mark Lewis, and the best of luck in the rest of the competition.
